Arrangement of Pasar Minggu Train Station Area Intensified

Some 20 joint personnel intensified the arrangement of the Pasar Minggu Station area on Jalan Raya Pasar Minggu, Pejaten Timur Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district, South Jakarta.

Pejaten Timur Urban Village Head, Rocky A Tarigan said the area arrangement was focused on efforts to prevent and dispel traders who sell in places that violate the rules.

"To smoothen it, we also get support from the national army (TNI) and police, as well as local environmental administrators," he expressed, Wednesday (2/21).

He explained the existence of traders on the sidewalks and the roadsides triggered traffic jams that made the area chaotic.

"We do persuasive method to them. We ask them to move to another available location that does not violate the rules," he explained.

He hoped efforts to maintain public order could become a common awareness to create a sense of comfort, security, beauty, and cleanliness.

"We also helped move their merchandise. Hopefully, tomorrow, they will sell in the proper place, like at the market opposite the station," he explained.

Pejaten Timur Urban Village Satpol PP Head, Imam Wasiat uttered that the traders had realized their mistakes through a persuasive approach.

"We urge them not to violate public order. We hope that the Pejaten Timur will be more organized to support Jakarta as a global community," he stated.

One of the residents, Zikri (25), positively welcomed the action, as traders on the sidewalk and roadside were very annoying.

"I appreciate the actions. Hopefully, traders understand and can continue to be orderly," he stated.
